Paul Theken began working with management systems in 1994 as a Champion for Process Improvement and Project Manager, leading the ISO 9000 Certification efforts for the GBS Corporation. In October of 1997, Paul left GBS to join a quality systems registrar: Smithers Quality Assessments as Lead Auditor. Shortly thereafter, he launched Quality Systems Management as a start-up management-consulting firm. QSM has since achieved 100% success record supporting more than a dozen organizations seeking international quality management system recognition.

Paul Theken continues to contract audit for Certification Bodies such as Steel Related Industries, Perry Johnson Registrars, BVQI, ABS Quality Systems, and Moody International, thereby gaining valuable experience working primarily with manufacturers of plastic, rubber, and steel products for industrial, commercial, automotive and aerospace markets. He has traveled extensively throughout North America serving small businesses and multi-national organizations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Germany and Japan. He is credited with leading more than fifty quality management system initial certification audits and has performed several hundred audits of quality systems for manufacturing and service organizations.

As principle of the independent consulting firm, Quality Systems Management, Paul now supports organizations as Project Manager, developing and implementing systems for organizations that have achieved Certification to ISO 9000, QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14000 international standards. He has developed and facilitated industrial training workshops focused upon strategic planning, problem solving, lean manufacturing, and internal auditing. Previous work experience includes over twenty years in management staff positions such as Director of Quality and Distribution Operations Manager. Paul has served as General Motors-Synchronous Organization Champion for a Tier I automotive supplier, GBS Printed Products, spearheading waste-reduction, cost saving programs. In 1996, he was appointed Management Representative for two ISO/QS-9000 Certified Divisions of the GBS Companies.

Mr. Theken is a graduate of Walsh University in North Canton, OH with a B.A. in Management. Additionally, he has studied Electronic Engineering and Information Technology at Stark State College. In 2005, Paul has earned an M.B.A. from Walsh University. Current Accreditations include the American Society for Quality - Certified Quality Engineer as well as ASQ - Certified Quality Auditor. He is certified by the Registrar Accreditation Board as a QMS-Lead Auditor and maintains Certification by the International Automotive Oversight Board as an ISO/TS 16949 Auditor.
